Welcome to NUX, the Nanostructures and Ultrafast X-ray Science Group

The Nanostructures and Ultrafast X-ray Science Group develops and uses new methods to flash-image fragile and short-lived nanostructures and ultrafast changes in their electronic and structural properties via coherent diffraction imaging, pushing towards extreme temporal resolution.

We want to help developing the structures in our department such that it becomes a more open, fair, and inclusive place that promotes all members in the best way. We are interested in your opinion and your experiences. You find more information on our homepage.  

Sustainable science

Various aspects of our scientific work cause CO2 emissions, e.g. through travel, power consumption and construction, but also as so-called grey emissions of the equiment we use. These contribute to the greenhouse effect of the earth's atmosphere and thus accelerate global warming. The D-PHYS recently endorsed a roadmap towards sustainability, that was developed by a working group with members from all levels of D-PHYS. Putting the roadmap into action is a collaborative effort to which all department members contribute.
